THINGS TO CONSIDER IN YOUR PURCHASE

Budget

Lifestyle Fit

Lifestyle Fit

For most people budget is one of the most important factors when selecting a vehicle. It may not be about what you can afford, but what you want to spend. If done properly a dealer can understand your guidelines without offending.

Determining which vehicle will serve you best will depend on your intended use. These include leisure, towing/hauling, multiple passengers, comfort, fuel economy, and many more.

Age and Miles

Lifestyle Fit

Vehicle Condition

These are typically a direct reflection of your desired budget and intended use. Keep in mind age and miles will play a role in maintenance and cost of ownership over time.

Cosmetic, mechanical, and structural conditions are up to each individual's level of comfort. Some are willing to sacrifice in these areas to fit desired budget, and ability to improve conditions.

History Reports

History Reports

History reports like CarFax and Autocheck can be helpful, and I recommend checking at least one. However, electronic data can be conflicting and inconsistent from one to the other. If you find any concern on the reports I recommend  a physical inspection.

Warranty

History Reports

Although some people view extended warranties as an add on or unnecessary expense, I would consider it based on your driving. If you plan on owning the vehicle beyond basic warranty you may at least want a two year. If you plan on owning for five plus years you may want a powertrain warranty.
